Our Story
If you're a South Asian woman, you know the feeling.
A wedding invitation arrives and the excitement quickly turns into a familiar question:
"What am I going to wear?"
From the Mehndi and Sangeet to the Wedding Ceremony and Reception, a single celebration can require multiple outfits. And with social expectations often discouraging outfit repeats, many women find themselves spending hundreds, or even thousands of dollars on clothing they'll wear once before it sits untouched in a closet.
We created Threads of Tradition because we believed there had to be a better way.
Our platform was built to help South Asian women across North America buy, sell, and discover beautiful pre-loved South Asian fashion. By giving outfits a second life, we're making cultural fashion more affordable, accessible, and sustainable while helping women reclaim valuable closet space and reduce unnecessary waste.
Every outfit has a story. It has celebrated milestones, weddings, family gatherings, and special moments. Rather than letting those pieces collect dust, we're creating a community where they can continue their journey with someone new.
Our mission is simple:
To make South Asian fashion more affordable, more sustainable, and more accessible, without sacrificing style, culture, or tradition.
Whether you're searching for the perfect outfit for your next event or looking to pass on pieces you no longer wear, you're helping create a future where fashion is shared, celebrated, and enjoyed more responsibly.
Because great outfits deserve more than one moment to shine.
